A staple of Asian cuisine, Perilla oil lends a distinct nutty flavor, while its leaves serve as a food-poisoning antidote. However, Perilla’s antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory properties have been used in Chinese medicine to treat gastrointestinal and respiratory issues.
