I think both!!! I drink ginger tea for so many conditions…either in bag form, or a crushed piece of whole ginger … if I’m really looking for a boost, I’ll add a 1/4 teaspoon of ginger powder to the pot with the crushed piece. Spicy, but in a soothing way. I’ve taken capsules as well, for instance, if I’m in a hurry. I find they works.
I drink ginger tea everyday anyway. When I’m sick, I just double up. Never taken a pill form of ginger.
I like to cut up fresh ginger and let it soak in a cup of hot water for like 10 minutes. Can’t always be sure of the purity of some powders.
My wife likes it in tea form. Soothes her throat. Not sure if it works better, but has that added benefit when she has a sore throat.
