An Experience with Cayenne Pepper (Capsaicin) for Cold & Flu

My effectiveness rating:
I found it to be somewhat effective.

My experience:

If my cold is starting in the throat and upper respiratory tract:

Make a thick slurry of cayenne pepper, lemon juice, salt and hot water. It should be a liquid, but just barely. Gargle with this as much as you can stand.

Go easy on the pepper though or you won’t be able to stand it.
