Chatterbox Instant Messenger Every community member will get a free instant messaging account If the Domain Super Pack is purchased by the Manager (highly recommended), the Manager will also have the ability to create Chatterbox Chats and Discussion Lists for use by community members.
Photo Album Every community member gets a free photo album Photo albums may be optionally linked to the community's Member Directory. No limit on number of photos. Max of 1GB bandwidth per month.
Personal Address Book Every community member gets a personal address book Little online address book for members to keep track of their personal contacts
Setup and Management Features
Three Membership Types Community may be setup as one of three (3) types More info on community types
  • Open - anyone may join
  • Gated - manager approval required to join. Membership requirements can be set
  • Subscription - payment of membership fee required
  • Two Access Settings Two ways to access the community's homepage
  • Private - anyone who has the link can access
  • Restricted - members must login to access
  • New Member Self-Signup New members complete an online New Member Signup Form to join
  • Open - immediate login following signup
  • Gated - member must wait for Manager approval to login
  • Subscription - immediate login following signup and payment of membership fee
  • New Member Application Review Manager reviews membership applications and accepts/denies applicants Available only with Gated communities
    Add New Members Manager can create new memberships administratively Available with all membership types
    Bulk Import Members Manager uploads a text file containing information on multiple new memberships Available with all membership types
    Multiple Membership Levels Create up to 8 different membership levels. Define what areas of community are accessible to each level Special links must be used on community pages for access restrictions to be enforced. Gated type with Restricted access is optimal configuration for community with multiple membership levels.
    Member Profiles Manager can define how much information displays in Member Profiles, which are linked to the Community's Member Directory Available with all membership types
    Co-Managers Manager may designate up to ten (10) members as account co-managers Co-Managers can assist with most community management functions
    Member Access Logs Manager can view statistics on what parts of the community have been used and by which members Specific members' activities can only be tracked and reported if they login to access the community
    Auto-Registration Available with chat room, discussion forum, and web calendar Only available with Restricted access. Feature must be enabled prior to members joining.
    News Feeds Manager may elect to have up to three news feeds display on community pages Hundreds of different feeds are available. InterestAlert, the provider of the feeds, will force a popunder advertisement to display when pages containing the feeds are viewed
    Interactive Features
    Top Picks Manager selects any of five (5) Top-Pick categories. Members submit their "picks" in available categories to Manager, who may select to display them on the community's homepage
    Member Directory Directory displays Member contact information, with options links to Member Profiles and web sites, as applicable Restricted access communities have the choice of displaying full or limited Member information in the Directory
    Member Submissions Manager may elect to allow members to submit information to him/her for posting in the community Includes News, Articles, Calendar Events, and Top Picks
    Community Homepage Articles Manager may elect to display "lead" information including title, subtitle, and author for up to five articles on the community homepage Visitors can click to view the entire article which opens in a new page. All fields and articles may be in HTML to include graphics.
    Article Library Collection of all submitted articles that have been archived by the Manager for later viewing Members may search for and view articles in the Library
    Contact Manager Manager has the option of including a link on community pages that will open a contact form Provides the means for members and visitors to contact the Manager without having to display the Manager's email address
    Welcome Message Email message created by the Manager that is automatically sent to all new members Content of Message can be changed at any time. Plain text only.
    Volunteer Members may volunteer to assist in monitoring postings, discussions, and other communications that take place in the community Members can use a special form to volunteer and/or report problems
    Tell a Friend Managers may place a link on community pages that opens into a special contact form Members can use this special form to tell their friends about your community
