WEBHELPS ANTI-SPAM POLICY
Using our email, webmail, or list services to send SPAM, or in any manner which violates our Terms of Use, is strictly prohibited.
We define SPAM as any unsolicited email. If you do not know the person you are emailing, or they have not asked to be sent the email - you are spamming them. If we receive a complaint, which we confirm is legitimate, your account will be closed immediately, without notice and without refund. Additionally, we reserve the right to bring legal action for damages against violators who cause a disruption of email services for our other users. We receive automatic notifications of spam from AOL and SpamCop, so we will catch you if you send spam.
Why are we so tough on spammers? Because many email services (such as AOL, MSN, Yahoo! and HotMail), will not accept mail from our servers if we are blacklisted, their users have complained, or they have intercepted spam coming from our servers. A single spammer on our system can prevent ALL email sent from our servers from being delivered.
If you use our servers to send spam, you could ruin our list and email services for all our customers and community members. Obviously, we cannot allow this to happen, so we will take quick and decisive action against anyone using our services to send spam.
To help reduce the possibility of our servers being used to send spam, you will not be able to send more than 25 of the same email at one time using either WebMail or POP3. All email lists are required to be opt-in only and you must provide unsubscribe instructions on every post to the list. You may not subscribe someone to your list who has not requested to participate. If you receive notice of a failed unsubscribe request, you must manually unsubscribe the email address.
Important Anti-Spam Information
All mail sent to our mail server at 64.49.220.152 will be checked by our anti-spam software. The anti-spam software identifies incoming spam, and incoming mail rules in place on the host domain prevents it from being delivered to any webhelps.com/whathelps.com or virtual host user accounts. All mail messages are sent through several layers of filters and checks to assure that maximum spam detection is achieved.
DNS blacklists, SpamCop and SpamHaus, are used to compare the sender information from incoming messages against their known spammer databases. Content filtering utilizes a spam phrase list, statistical filtering, and HTML filtering to examine the body of a message and determine whether it is spam.

Mail destined for webhelps.com/whathelps.com, or a virtual host on the mail server, that is identified as spam is either bounced or deleted, depending upon which test(s) the email failed. If an email fails a test, an X-IMAIL-SPAM x-header is inserted into the email's header. By reviewing the header of a bounced email, you will be able to determine what anti-spam test the email failed.
Creating Your Own Incoming Mail Rules
Filters may be setup at the domain, list, and user levels. Unless you are using your own domain for community members email or with IMail® lists, you will not be able to setup rules at the domain or list level. However, everyone can setup rules on their own username@webhelps.com email account. For instructions and examples, click here.
If you are using your domain with email or IMail® lists, you will need to add incoming mail rules (setup a Filter) on your domain in order to prevent delivery of mail containing X-IMAIL-SPAM x-headers to your users' mailboxes. To view a list of all X-IMAIL-SPAM x-headers in use, and their current disposition under Incoming Mail Rules for webhelps.com/whathelps.com and all virtual hosts, please read the Email Instructions.
