 IMAGE BLOCKING INFORMATION

When a browser is displaying the word "image" in place of an image on a web page, or is not displaying anything where an image should be, it is because there is an image-blocking program installed on the viewing computer. This program may be a browser plug-in, or it may be an entirely separate program. Following are lists of plug-ins and programs we know to have image-blocking capabilities. This is by no means an exhaustive list. The program causing your problem may not be listed.

If you have installed a program to block spyware, adware, popups, and/or banners, this program is almost certainly the cause of the problem. Either uninstall the program, or add whathelps.com and/or webhelps.com to the list of accepted sites.

If you are using Earthlink to connect to the Internet, it may be ZoneAlarm or Norton Internet Security that is causing your problem. These programs are provided to Earthlink customers.

If you are using an AOL or Yahoo! browser, the problem may be caused by your security settings. Try reducing them, and/or listing whathelps.com and/or webhelps.com to your list of accepted sites.

Although not specifically listed below, firewalls have also been known to block images. If you are using a personal firewall, add whathelps.com and/or webhelps.com to your list of accepted sites. If you are behind a network firewall, ask your network administrator for assistance.

If you are using Windows XP and have Service Pack 2 installed, the firewall or popup blocker included with the service pack could be causing your problem. Either turn them off or add whathelps.com and/or webhelps.com to the accepted sites. Information on using Service Pack 2 is at http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=ph;en-us;6794.
